Este recorrido oficial es circular y de escasa dificultad, ya que es inferior a los 3 kilómetros, pese a ello hay que prestar especial atención al suelo, ya que, en ocasiones, hay tramos que pueden ser especialmente resbaladizos –sobre todo si hay humedad-. Al ser un sendero que se puede realizar en poco menos dos horas, el itinerario se puede complementar con otras rutas oficiales del Torcal, como la que conduce hasta el Tornillo, o visitar el propio centro de visitantes, situado junto al aparcamiento. Allí se organizan habitualmente visitas guiadas por este paraje natural.

Desde el aparcamiento se puede emprender el camino en dos sentidos posibles, debido a que la ruta es circular. El más oficial es el que tiene un cartel indicativo en la zona de estacionamiento, es decir, el contrario al centro de visitantes, que será el lugar donde se llegue al finalizar. Tras superar un ligero desnivel, el camino se dirige por una zona prácticamente llana hasta el interior del Torcal. Apenas se han recorrido 15 minutos se alcanza uno de los hitos botánicos de esta ruta, el conocido como arce de Montpellier, un ejemplar de extraordinario tamaño.

Pocos metros después de dejar atrás el arce de Montpellier se comienza a disfrutar de sorprendentes estampas del conjunto geológico. A partir de ahí el recorrido se vuelve aún más interesante. Eso sí, la belleza de este tramo no debe despistar al senderista del camino, ya que se puede confundir el itinerario amarillo con el verde, ya que ambos tienen algunos caminos en común.

En el ecuador de la ruta se pueden ver algunas de las rocas que han cobrado, gracias a la erosión y a su naturaleza kárstica, formas muy singulares. Algunas incluso han sido bautizadas por los lugareños. Es el caso de rocas como la Maceta, el Camello, El Sombrecillo, la Cara de Perro, las Siete Mesas, y así hasta una infinidad de esculturas naturales que esperan ser descubiertas por la mirada del excursionista.

El ecuador de esta ruta se supera una vez que se ha dejado atrás el conocido como hoyo de la Burra, una depresión que dejar un entorno espectacular y que conecta con el que se conoce como Callejón Ancho. A partir de ahí, siguiendo siempre las indicaciones -pueden ser hitos de madera o puntos y flechas de color amarillo pintados en las propias piedras-, el camino se vuelve hacia un pasaje angosto bautizado como ‘los Callejones’, que da a esta ruta un toque muy emocionante. Desde allí, quedará menos de un kilómetro para llegar hasta el centro de visitantes.

Una vez concluida la ruta, merece la pena detenerse en el propio centro de visitantes, donde se podrá tener más información de este enclave geológico. Desde allí, apenas a 30 metros se podrá disfrutar de una vista panorámica del entorno en el mirador de las Ventanillas.

Yellow route (Torcal de Antequera)

This official route is circular and of little difficulty, since it is less than 3 kilometers, in spite of this, special attention must be paid to the ground, since sometimes there are sections that can be especially slippery - especially if there is humidity - . Being a trail that can be done in just under two hours, the itinerary can be complemented with other official routes of the Torcal, such as the one leading to the Tornillo, or visit the visitor center itself, located next to the parking lot. Guided tours are usually organized there.

From the car park you can take the road in two possible directions, because the route is circular. The most official is the one that has an indicative sign in the parking area, that is, the opposite to the visitor center, which will be the place where you arrive at the end. After crossing a slight difference, the road goes through a practically flat area to the interior of the Torcal. As soon as they have traveled 15 minutes you will reach one of the botanical landmarks of this route, the well-known maple of Montpellier, a specimen of extraordinary size.

A few meters after leaving the maple of Montpellier begins to enjoy surprising prints of the geological set. From there the route becomes even more interesting. Of course, the beauty of this section should not mislead the hiker on the road, since the yellow itinerary can be confused with the green one, since both have some roads in common.

At the equator of the route you can see some of the rocks that have been collected, thanks to erosion and its karstic nature, very unique forms. Some have even been baptized by the locals. This is the case of rocks such as the Pot, the Camel, the Shadow, the Dog Face, the Seven Tables, and so on to an infinity of natural sculptures waiting to be discovered by the hiker's gaze.

The equator of this route is overcome once you have left behind the well-known hole of the Burra, a depression that leave a spectacular environment and that connects with what is known as Wide Alley. From there, always following the indications - they may be wooden landmarks or yellow dots and arrows painted on the stones themselves - the road turns to a narrow passage baptized as 'the Callejones', which gives this route a Touch very exciting. From there, it will be less than a kilometer to reach the visitor center.

Once the route is completed, it is worth stopping at the visitor center itself, where you can have more information about this geological enclave. From there, just 30 meters away you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings at the Mirador de las Ventanillas

Si no dispones de GPS lo mejor es comprar un mapa en el centro de interpretacion e ir conociendo la belleza de esta ruta Amarilla ,conociendo todas estas figuras ,caprichos de la narturaleza,para los mas pequeños sera todo un reto y un buen aliciente (Torcal de Antequera) mas de 40 figuras imitativas, hara de esta ruta toda una joya para tus sentidos ,el sendero esta balizado, en algunos tramos según humedad ,lluvia, clima, epoca, demás estará resbaladizo, mucha atención y cuidado.
