Hiking from HaEla to Mata

The hike begins in HaEla, nestled in the Mate Yehuda Regional Council area near Jerusalem, where you'll set off across the rolling hills. You'll soon experience the initial ascent towards the high point, offering stunning views. Take a moment to enjoy the panoramic scenery as you navigate the trail, with a good posture.
As you continue, the path takes you towards the area's maximum elevation (near lyme kiln). You'll experience some steep sections requiring good balance.
You will soon pass through the area of minimum elevation, before finally reaching Mata, close to Jerusalem, where you'll finish the hike. You can see the result of your journey as you get closer to the finishing point.
You'll cover approximately 10 kilometers, enjoying both ascents and descents with a total elevation gain of about 357 meters. This route is suitable for hikers of most fitness levels, offering an excellent way to connect with nature.
