Mountain Biking from Golan Heights to Galilee
Get ready for an unforgettable Mountain Biking adventure! This route takes you from the Golan Heights to the Galilee region.
Starting in the Golan Heights, you'll begin your ride in a region known for its volcanic landscapes. Be prepared for some initial technical sections and rocky trails. This is a great area to test your bike handling skills. The early ascent will challenge you to keep a good posture and maintain a steady pace, allowing you to appreciate the unique geology around you.
As you climb, you'll approach the point of maximum elevation near Majdal Shams, in the north of Israel. Here, the trails become more open, offering stunning views. At the top, you'll be rewarded with amazing views over the valleys of the Golan and down to the Galilee. Here it's important to control your speed, especially on the descents. The descent is a rewarding ride, a fantastic display of your endurance, skill and preparation, you will be biking down approximately 80 kilometers.
Later, the trail descends towards the Galilee, passing areas of lower elevation with easier trails.
Near the end of the route, you'll find yourself in the Galilee region. The terrain changes to include some more demanding climbs and technical sections. You have to ride through a variety of landscapes. You will have to be mindful of the descent, which will take you to areas with a lower elevation.
In total, you'll cover around 80 kilometers and ascend and descend a significant amount. Expect to ride for over 12 hours, allowing for stops.
